Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) Expert-level meeting on the updates on the PBF - 25 April 2017

The 25 April 2017 Expert-level meeting of the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) was chaired by Ms. Jooyeon Ellen Kang, the Director of UN Division, International Security Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Korea, and attended by Mr. Marc-André France, Chief of the financing for the Peacebuilding Branch of the Peacebuilding support Office (PCSO). It was aimed at updating the floor about the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) and discussing about the four main areas it focuses on, namely the implementation of peace agreements, political coexistence and reconciliation, the economic recovery, and the re-establishment of state services. Mr. Marc-André France made a brief statement on the work of the PBF before assessing its achievements and presenting the ongoing investments on several projects. The participants commended the parties' ongoing efforts, but they suggested a stronger collaboration with member states and the main regional organizations.
