Pamhidzai Thaka

Pamhidzai is a Community Cohesion Officer, currently working for Ecumenical Church Leaders Forum (ECLF). ECLF is a peacebuilding forum that sensitises communities in conflict prevention management resolution and transformation.

Assists local peace committees to sustain peacebuilding initiatives


The communities will go on further to form Local Peace Committees (LPCs) to sustain their peacebuilding initiatives. Her role is to assist them in the planning, implementing and monitoring of key activities of community cohesion initiatives in close coordination with local leadership, different stakeholders and service providers as they harvest peace dividends. Community cohesion initiatives bring communities together and they go on to develop their communities despite their diversities. 

Pamhidzai Thaka has experience in project planning and management which she gained while working for the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development , with the aim of promoting gender equality and empowering women through entrepreneurial projects.

She is a teacher by profession and a holds a Bachelor in Education, Educational Administration Planning and in Policy Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies. Currently, she is studying for a Master's degree in Applied Conflict Transformation Studies.

At GPPAC she is the Regional Liaison Officer for Southern Africa and a Gender Focal Person in the Improving Practice working group. She also does a lot of voluntary work in women groups in Churches and in some organisations where she is a board member, assisting them on how to handle conflicts within their institutions and address gender imbalances especially in women and the girl child.
