Welcome!

Welcome to the web site of the United Network of Young Peacebuilders' 'Learning by seeing, seeing by doing' job shadowing project! This project was designed to help improve future international cooperation between 10 youth-led organisations from around the world, by sending their young leaders to another organisation to follow their activities for a week. Learning, sharing and understanding about different realities and issues regarding youth peacebuilding will foster capacity strengthening of all organisations involved. The young people will have a unique chance to visit another country and bring their expertise to new environments.

In the period of one year, ten youth leaders from The Hague (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Amarante (Portugal), Cluj Napoca (Romania), Palermo (Italy), Cordoba (Argentina), Nairobi (Kenya), Freetown (Sierra Leone), Accra (Ghana) and Quezon City (Philippines), working on peacebuilding especially related to poverty, social exclusion and gender equality initiatives will engage in jobshadowing exchanges.
In addition to the jobshadowing, they will give workshops and trainings, meet with policy-makers to promote their cause and organise a campaign for International Day of Peace on 21 September 2011.

On this web site, they will share their experience during and after the visits by means of videos and blogs. They will also discuss key themes, such as Millennium Development Goals 1 and 3, in specially created boards.
