In terms of my research work, I face challenges such as the lack of gender-disaggregated data and insufficient open access data on monitoring and evaluation. I face lack of serious engagement by officials on this matter, resulting in risks related to insufficient effective communication and coordination between the WPS agenda and the PB/CP (or, more generally, foreign policy) agendas and actors. Besides, lack of funding for WPS engagement in PB and CP is a persistent challenge.
The main challenges for women active in PB and CP in Armenia are persistent gender stereotypes, leaving no space for women in discussions and decision making on Peace and Security issues. However, times are changing and today more and more women and men in my country do understand the importance of women's activism for peace and development and therefore support them in different ways. In Armenia there are no significant risks for women involved in such issues - moreover, the circle of women- peace activists is expanding.
However, very careful and serious approaches should be taken within the whole region of South Caucasus, since even one reckless or ill-considered step can negate the efforts of the women's peacebuilding movement and discredit the idea of women's participation in the peace process.

Resourcing women's activism for peacebuilding is vital because the indicators of success are always slow.
We also need to recognize that working for women's human rights is risky business particularly when you are challenging the military status quo or entrenched patriarchy.
The realities that women face on the ground are most often ignored because patriarchal norms overshadow the playing field. Women are not consulted at the beginning of peace processes and are most often considered as beneficiaries and not equal actors.
Women are vulnerable in multiple ways and face the challenge of being regarded as sex objects during conflict. The generalized insecurity by armed groups and terrorists make the entire peacebuilding and conflict prevention work blurred and risky.
The main challenges are the absence of progress towards peace, the fragmentation of the Palestinian community, the lack of hope and an accompanying lack of vision, which affects everything and everyone. It is difficult to talk about peacebuilding when there is no clear peace to be built, and as there is a constant increase both in militarization and in the marginalization of women generally. While there are many women leaders and role models, there are also many who suffer both from the violence (of all kinds – physical and structural) of the occupation and from the patriarchal traditions.
One of the main challenges is related to our work on the regional level, because the existing conflict occurred between countries. To end the conflict, it is necessary to work on the regional level and to create opportunities for people from all parts of the region to participate in the regional meetings, to collaborate with the authorities in the region and to ensure respect for the right to the freedom of movement and to engage directly on conflict issues.
