The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and Women Peacemakers Program (WPP) are honored to host a delegation of women activists from Libya and Yemen with the aim of providing constructive analysis of how global policies and international responses are manifesting locally and, in particular, how they are disproportionately affecting Libyan and Yemeni women and women-led local civil society.
This joint study on the prevention of violent conflict—a first in the history of our institutions—was initiated in 2016 and conducted by a team of staff members from the United Nations and the World Bank Group, in a spirit of fostering closer collaboration to deliver at the country level. It reflects a process of research and intense global consultation aimed at providing ideas on how development approaches can better interact with other tools to prevent violent conflict.
The 8th Conference of Stichting Mediators Beyond Borders International connects people from the heart of conflict, journalists, diplomats, experts on health and climate, politicians, representatives of the military, NGO's, GO's, IGO's and businesses to openly share ideas and experiences. The inclusive discussions and masterclasses will focus on MBBI's long-term mission: "Keep people from the heart of conflict in charge of peacebuilding processes".
