This community on the Peace Portal features stories from Gender Experts working on peace and conflict prevention. This includes stories on the roles women are playing all over the world to prevent conflict as well as the importance of including women in peacebuilding and conflict prevention. Stories also include why it is key for women to have access to education and the impact this has on peace and conflict prevention.
GPPAC and WFM-IGP are relaunching a new and improved version of the betterpeace.org website that covers the work of the UN's Peacebuilding Commission (PBC). Check out the website for an introduction to the work of the PBC on peacebuilding and conflict prevention in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, the Central African Republic and beyond and background information on the UN's peacebuilding architecture. This website is hosted and created through the Peace Portal.
Madrid City Council has launched a WORLD FORUM ON URBAN VIOLENCE AND EDUCATION FOR COEXISTENCE AND PEACE to focus and lay the foundations to work against urban violence. A Forum allowing to outline the different types of urban violence and discuss channels and ways to prevent, tackle and, if possible, eradicate it. It is a Forum to spread thoughts and practices that allow us to transform the cultures of violence into cultures of peace. The Forum will take place in Madrid 19-21 April 2017.
